About Us

Dreams come true.  I lived in Georgetown for 15 years.  Every now and then I visited a cute yarn shop just off the square.  I would drive by in the evening just imagining working in such a perfect spot, doing what I loved.  One day, a dear friend (she taught me to knit more than 40 years ago) mentioned the shop was for sale.  After quick good byes, I called the owner and bought the store.  With good bones and the solid customer base of NeedleArts of Georgetown, The Knitting Cup opened within a week.  Over the past year, my customers and I continued to learn new patterns, methods, and skills.   We happily offer lessons of ANY genre (knitting, crochet, spinning, and weaving) both scheduled and a la carte’.  We are happy to provide free help in patterns, new stitches for you, or fixes.  Now, old and new customers meet round the table to cast on new projects, for help with one in progress, or just for the friendship.  So many wonderful relationships have formed between a great group of wonderful people.  We can't wait for you to join us.
